HMRC Christian Network

A testimony from a member of the HMRC Group in Birmingham:

"Our Birmingham Christian Fellowship group has been going for 4 years now, and we have seen numbers increase from 4 to 34 members. Not all members are able to meet for our weekly fellowship prayer and praise sessions, so we bring their prayer requests to the meeting. We have recently celebrated our 4th anniversary by going out for a meal together.

My Christian Fellowship group has been a source of encouragement and comfort to me during times of trials. My son died aged 26 of a brain tumour, and 2 years later my husband had a bad heart attack, resulting in a brain injury due to lack of oxygen. He now suffers from short-term memory loss and stays at a care home. I would have found it difficult to cope at work if I didn't have our City Centre House Christian Fellowship group.

Through the marvellous work of CIG UK we can support and pray for one another through the prayer requests throughout the UK Government offices. Many of us have had answers to prayer for healing of relatives, friends and colleagues. We who have received such blessings can in turn bring blessing, love, friendship and support to other colleagues in the work place who are suffering from stress, or are worried about their job security.

So well done CIG UK! Long may it continue it its support of its members and bring sunshine and hope in to its many offices. Having Christian networks/fellowships in the work place makes for happier employees and managers."

The HMRC Christian Network

The HMRC Christian Network is an informal multi-denominational network of Christians working in HM Revenue & Customs. It is comprised of many autonomous Christian fellowships, groups and individuals in various locations across the UK. Our main form of communication is via the Weekly Prayer Request Sheet circulated to all its members. The HMRC Christian Network is not a formally recognised group within the department, but many of its members are members of the department's multi-faith HMRC Religion and Belief Staff Diversity Network.
